Selecting an Upsell
Selecting an Upsell here will make it available to be included on the registration form of each participation type at the price and in the amount of inventory you define. You can also associate the Upsell with interest categories that have been defined within the system. Many of the other attributes may also be edited to define the specific instance of the Upsell. Note that the Display type (that is checkbox or select list) cannot be changed.
In addition to setting the price that the registering participant will be charged, you will set the fair market value of the item if the participant can deduct a portion of the price from their taxes.
If the Upsell has different options (like T-shirt sizes), you can define inventories for each option instead of a total number available across all options. You can also choose not to track inventory.
To make an Upsell available to the participation types in this TeamRaiser:
- In the Process Navigator on the Event Center page, click Edit Upsells. The Upsells list page displays.
- Click Select a Registration Upsell. The Select Upsell page displays.
- If the Upsell you want to associate is:
- Displayed as the first item in the drop-down list, click the Next button. The Review Display Options page opens.
- Not displayed, select it from the drop-down list and then click the Next button. The Review Display Options page opens.
- If necessary, edit the Name, Description, Checkbox/Select List Text, and More Info Link file.
- To set the price for this option, enter the monetary value in the Price field. If you leave this field blank, no price will be shown for the option.
- If you have set a price that exceeds the value of the option, enter the monetary amount that registering participants may claim on their taxes for this item in the Fair Market Value field. If you leave this field blank, the registrant cannot claim this item for tax purposes.
- For Inventory:
- Leave the Not Tracking Upsells as Inventory radio button selected if you do not plan to track the number of these items as they are selected or purchased. Note that the actual number of items ordered may display in the Upsell Lists on pages regardless of this setting.
- Or, click the Set Total Inventory Amount Available radio button and then, in the Available Inventory Amount field that displays, enter the number of items available for selection or purchase.
- Or, if this is a select list:
- Click the Set Inventory Amount per Option radio button. The Inventory column in the Available Options table becomes active.
- Enter the appropriate numbers of items available in each row of the Inventory column.
- If you need to charge extra for an option, you can enter the extra price in the appropriate field.
- If this Upsell is a:
- Checkbox, to change the Check Initially setting, click the Yes, the checkbox is checked by default checkbox.
- Select List, to change Pre-Selected Option, select the appropriate option in the drop-down list.
- When you are finished, click Next. The Interest Categories page opens.
- To associate this Upsell with interests that will be added to the contact records of the participants who select or purchase this Upsell, click the applicable checkboxes in the list displayed.
- Click Finish. The Upsells list page opens again with the Upsell showing.
