Changing Soft Credit for a Gift Recorded to the Wrong Participant
Participants who raise funds by getting people to make gifts to support their fundraising efforts receive soft credit for each of these gifts (the donor actually receives hard credit for giving the gift). If a gift has been accidentally recorded to the wrong participant, or was intended to be given to support an entire team or the event directly, you can move the soft credit to a different participant, a team, or the event.
To change the soft credit for a gift:
Note: If you are on the Members roster on the Team page, skip directly to Step 4.
- Click Customer Service from the top navigation bar. The Customer Service splash page displays.
- In the Process Navigator, click Manage Participants. The Participants list page displays.
- If the participant is not in view in the list displayed:
- Click the Search link. The Search page displays.
- Enter the information in the fields and click the Finish button. The Participants list displays with matching search results.
- Click View Summary from the Actions column of the appropriate participant. The Summary page displays with registration details and the Gift History list.
- Click Change Soft Credit from the Actions column of the gift. The Select Type page displays.
- To change the soft credit to:
- Another participant:
- Leave the TeamRaiser Participant radio button selected and click the Search button. The participant search fields display.
- Enter as much of the information about the participant to whom the soft credit should be moved in the fields and click the Next button. The Select Participant page displays with the Participant List that contains the search results.
- Click Select from the Actions column of the appropriate participant. The Confirm Changes page displays.
- After reviewing the transaction details, click the Finish button. The Summary page for the participant displays again without the gift in the Gift History.
- An entire team:
- Click the TeamRaiser Team radio button and click the Search button. The Select Destination Team page displays.
- Click Select from the Actions column of the appropriate team. The Confirm Changes page displays.
- After reviewing the transaction details, click the Finish button. The Summary page for the participant displays again without the gift in the Gift History.
- The event itself:
- Click the TeamRaiser Event radio button and click the Search button. The Confirm Changes page displays.
- After reviewing the transaction details, click the Finish button. The Summary page for the participant displays again without the gift in the Gift History.
