Working with the Navigation Links

You create and add items to the Navigation Bar that displays on each TeamRaiser page. You can add a Section Title and then put the appropriate page links under it, or add a page link as the section.

Adding a New Section of Links to the Navigation Bar

You can add a new section to the Navigation Bar and then insert links in the new section.

To add a new section of links to the page Navigation Bar:

  1. From the Event Management Center, click Event Web Site. The Event Web Site page displays with the default Greeting page showing.
  2. Click the Configure Navigation Bar link. The Navigation Bar page displays.
  3. In the Add a new section to your menu field, enter the title of the new section and click the Add Section button. The new section title displays in the Change Navigation Entries area.

    Note: If the Select a section in your menu drop-down list displays instead of the Add a new section to your menu field, click the add a new section link to display the field.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. To add a link to the section:
    • To an existing TeamRaiser or Custom Page:
      1. Click the appropriate TeamRaiser or Custom page from the Select a page to add list.
      2. Optionally, change the label in the Specify the label field.
      3. Click the Add Page button. The page displays in the Navigation Entries area.
      4. Click the Save button.
    • By providing a URL to a page:
      1. Click Provide your own link.
      2. In the Specify a URL to add field, enter the URL to your page.
      3. In Specify the label field, enter the text to display in the Navigation Bar for this link.
      4. Click the Add Page button. The page displays in the Change Navigation Entries area.
      5. Click the Save button.
      6. To add another section click the add a new section link and repeat from Step 3.
  6. When you are finished, click the Finish button. The Web Site page displays again.

Adding a Link to a Section in the Navigation Bar

You can add new links to existing sections of the Navigation Bar.

To add a link to an existing section of the page Navigation Bar:

  1. From the Event Management Center, click Event Web Site. The Event Web Site page displays with the default Greeting page showing.
  2. Click the Configure Navigation Bar link. The Navigation Bar page displays.
  3. Click the section name from the the Select a section in your menu drop-down list.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. To add a link to the section:
    • To an existing TeamRaiser or Custom Page:
      1. Click the appropriate TeamRaiser or Custom page from the Select a page to add list.
      2. Optionally, change the label in the Specify the label field.
      3. Click the Add Page button. The page displays in the Navigation Entries area.
      4. Click the Save button.
    • By providing a URL to a page:
      1. Click Provide your own link.
      2. In the Specify a URL to add field, enter the URL to your page.
      3. In Specify the label field, enter the text to display in the Navigation Bar for this link.
      4. Click the Add Page button. The page displays in the Change Navigation Entries area.
      5. Click the Save button.
  6. When you are finished, click the Finish button. The Web Site page displays again.

Changing the Order of the Sections in the Navigation Bar

You can move sections around or the links within a section. To move a link to a different section, you must delete it and add it to the appropriate section.

To change the order in which the sections display in the page Navigation Bar:

  1. From the Event Management Center, click Event Web Site. The Event Web Site page displays with the default Greeting page showing.
  2. Click the Configure Navigation Bar link. The Navigation Bar page displays.
  3. Click the up or down arrow for the link or section title to move the item until it is in the correct location.
  4. When you are finished, click the Finish button. The Web Site page displays again.

Deleting a Section or Link from the Navigation Bar

You must delete all of the links from a section before you can delete the section itself.

To change the order in which the sections display in the page Navigation Bar:

  1. From the Event Management Center, click Event Web Site. The Event Web Site page displays with the default Greeting page showing.
  2. Click the Configure Navigation Bar link. The Navigation Bar page displays.
  3. Click the trash can for the item you want to delete. A confirmation window displays.
  4. Click the OK button. The item disappears from the panel.
  5. When you are finished, click the Finish button. The Web Site page displays again.
