Translating Event Web Pages
You can localize and translate web pages into English (U.S., British, and Canadian), French (Canadian), and Spanish (U.S.)
using Multiple Language Tabs. The differences between U.S, British, and Canadian
English are mostly to enable such things as correct address formats and currency
options, such as £ or
$. Most of the Event Management Center user interface is already translated, but
you can translate your own custom content as well.
Note: The translation languages that are available vary depending on how
the site is configured.
The language that displays to constituents is set according to the site default locale, or the constituent’s preferred locale. Constituent’s can select a preferred locale when they register, a system administrator can set their preferred locale in Constituent360, or they may click a link that allows them to change the language display (if your site has one).
To translate a new web page:
- On the Event Web Site page, click Create a Custom Page. The Custom Page Title and Content fields display.
- Enter the
Page Name and Page Body in the language that corresponds to the Multiple Language
Tab that is selected. For example, if the English tab is selected, enter the
English translation, if the French tab is selected, enter the French
translation, and so on.
- Click the next language tab and complete the
Page Name and Page Body fields in that Language.
- Continue adding the content for the different languages until you are done.
- Click
Finish when you are done. You have successfully created and translated
a new web page.
To translate an existing web page:
- Click Event Web Site at the top of the Event Management Center.
- On the Event Web Site page, select
a page from the Choose a Page to
Edit drop-down list. The
page opens in the WYSIWYG Editor.
- From the
Locale Selection drop-down list, select a language and enter
the content for that language in the WYSIWYG Editor.
- Select another language from the
Locale Selection drop-down list and enter the content for that language in the
WYSIWYG Editor. Continue doing this until you have entered the content in all
available languages. You have successfully translated the web page.
