Using a Sent Email Message as a Template for a New Message

You can quickly and easily forward a previously sent message to people who did not receive the email the first time (for example, new additions to your address book) or reuse content from it.

When you enter recipient email addresses in the To area, names or email addresses that match contacts and groups from your address book are displayed for you to select. If the name or email address is not in your address book, the contact will automatically be added after you send the message.

Step 1. Display the Sent Messages List Page

After accessing your Participant Center Home page, click either:

  • EMAIL from the top navigation and and click Sent from the navigation on the right side of the page page.
  • Send Email from the navigation on the right side of the page and click Sent from the navigation on the right side of the page.

Step 2. Display the Message

Click the name of the message and then click Forward (located just above the email address of the previous recipients).

Step 3. Enter the Intended Recipients of this Email Message

In the To field, if you are:

  • Manually typing in email addresses (or the first name of a known contact), start entering the name or email address of the first recipient. If contact matches from your address book display alongside the area, click the name or email address to have it filled in automatically.
  • Pasting in a list of valid email addresses that you have copied from another source, position your cursor in the field and press the Ctrl + V keys on your keyboard.

Step 4. Optionally, Change the Subject of this Email Message

Click into the Subject area and type in the phrase that you want recipients to see when they view their email message list. Note that it is important to use details that will not be considered SPAM. For example, entering the phrase "I am Participating in the 2009 Fundraiser" may not trigger SPAM filters on many of the popular email applications while "Open This" may trigger them.

Tip: A compelling subject line may increase the chances of the intended recipients to open and act on this email.

Step 5. Optionally, Edit the Message Content

Click into the Content Editor and enter your message (or press the Ctrl + V keys on your keyboard to paste in content you copied to the clipboard).

If toolbars and formatting tools are displayed, you can format the text to change the font, its size, or its color as well as make text bold or italics, add lists, and so on. For details, refer to Using the Rich Text Editor.

Step 6. Preview Your Message and Make Adjustments

Click Preview (from the bottom of the page). A message window opens to display your content as it will look to a recipient.

To make changes to the message, click Edit. The Compose page displays again.

Close the window when you are finished.

Step 7. Send Your Email

Click Send. The Your message was successfully sent message displays and the fields on this Compose page clear.
