Determining the Next Step to Take After Registering or During the Days Before the Fundraiser

You can quickly and easily perform tasks from the Participant Center that will help you maximize your fundraising effort and raise more money.

The What Next suggestion box on your Home Page of the Participant Center contains a suggested next task that is linked to the tool to use to perform the task.

After you register for the fundraising event, these tasks will include:

  • Setting up your Personal Page that you can direct your family and friends to so that they can give a donation in support of your fundraising effort. In just a few minutes, you can add your story and a photo or video clip to it. To learn more about making this Personal Page a creative expression of your commitment to participating in the event and raising money for it, refer to Customizing Your Personal Page that Displays for this Fundraising Event.
  • Creating an address book containing the email addresses of your family and friends so you can quickly send emails that appeals for their monetary support, recruits them for your team, personally thanks them for their support, and so on. Using the address book with the Email area enables you to monitor who has given gifts, who needs a reminder about your fundraising, and who still needs to be sent the appeal. To learn more about this task, refer to Creating and Using an Address Book of Email Contacts.
  • Sending the appeal for monetary support to family and friends. You should have received a sample email that you can use as a template or you can create your own. Sending email from the Participant Center Email area enables you to monitor who has given gifts, who needs a reminder about your fundraising, and who needs a personal thank you for giving you a gift. To learn more about this task, refer to Sending Appeals for Monetary Support to Family and Friends.

You can also periodically scroll through the Recent Activity area on the Home Page to look for links to suggested tasks you can perform in response to interactions people have made with your Personal Page.
