Customizing the Web Address for Your Personal Page

You can customize, or create a shortcut, to the Web address (or, URL) for your Personal Page to make it shorter and easier to remember when sharing it with other people. This Web address will contain our site name, followed by the phrase goto, and end with a word or phrase that you enter (such as your full name or recognizable nickname).

Step 1. Display Your Personal Page Work Area

After accessing your Participant Center Home page, click either:

  • Personal Page from the options along the top of the page.
  • Or, Work with Personal Page from the navigation links on the right side of the page.

Step 2. Display the Edit Options

In the Personal Page URL and Settings area, click Edit.

Step 3: Enter the Text for the Personalized Web Address

Click into the field and type the text you want to use (such as your name or nickname). You may only use letters and numbers as well as the period (.), dash (-), and underscore (_) characters from your keyboard. To avoid problems, do not leave any spaces between your entry.

Note: If the organization site address is organization.org and you enter TerryBrown as your personalized text, the Web address that you would give to people would be http://organization.org/goto/TerryBrown. You could also enter Terry_Brown to use http://organization.org/goto/Terry_Brown or Terry.Brown to use http://organization.org/goto/Terry.Brown.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Click Save. The Edit fields close as the The shortcut was updated successfully message and the new personalized Web address display.

Note: You can copy the URL and paste it into an email.
