Personalizing the Web Address for Your Personal Page

You can personalize the Web address to your Personal Page to make it easier to remember and share with other people. For example, using your name in the URL may make it easier for people to find the page.

The text of your personalized Web Address will be added to the main address along with the phrase /goto, so it will take the form: http://organization.org/goto/your_text.

You can copy the personalized Web address you created and paste it into emails.

Step 1: Display the Update Settings Page

After accessing your Participant Center, locate the Update personal URLs link (in the colored area on the right side of the page) and click it.

Tip: If you are not on the Participant Center page, log in to the site, click the link that displays the Greeting page of this fundraising event and then click the Participant Center link.

Step 2: Enter the Text for the Personalized Web Address

Click into the personalized Web address field and type the text you want to use (such as your name or nickname). You may only use letters and numbers as well as the the period (.), dash (-), and underscore (_) characters from your keyboard. To avoid problems, do not leave any spaces between your entry.

Note: If the organization site address is organization.org and you enter TerryBrown as your personalized text, the Web address that you would give to people would be http://organization.org/goto/TerryBrown. You could also enter Terry_Brown to use http://organization.org/goto/Terry_Brown or Terry.Brown to use http://organization.org/goto/Terry.Brown.

Step 3: Save Your Changes

Click the Save button. The Successfully saved changes to the account message displays at the top of the page and the Current URL displays with your personalized Web address.

Note: You can copy the URL and paste it into an email.
