Working with Privacy Setting of Your Fund

By default, funds are Public so that they display in search results where they match the search criteria since most people will search for the funds to which they want to contribute. You can make a fund Private so it will not display during searches and will display to only those people who know the exact address to the Fund Web Page.

Click one of the following links to learn about:

  • Making a Fund a Private Fund to keep your Fund Web Page from displaying (especially while you customize your Fund Web Page or give the immediate family of a fund Honoree a chance to view the page and make their donations first before others).
  • Setting a Private Fund Back to Public to make the Fund Web Page available from search results.

Making a Fund a Private Fund

You can change a fund setting to make your fund Private to keep it from displaying in general search results lists.

If you make your fund Private and want certain people to view your Fund Web Page, you will have to give them the Web address to it. You can copy the Web address from the address bar in your Web browser and paste it into an email for people to use. Or, you can create a personalized URL that you can remember and enter directly into emails. For assistance, refer to Personalizing Your Fund Page Web Address

Step 1: Display the Update the Fund Page

In the Fund Information area on the Champion Center home page of your fund, click the Create Fund Shortcut link. The Update the Fund page displays.

Note: If you are not in the Champion Center for your fund, click the link that displays the Personal Fundraising campaigns and click the Champion Center or Champion Dashboard link to locate the fund you want to work with.

Step 2: Change the Private Fund Setting

If the Private Fund checkbox does not contain a checkbox, click the checkbox to add the checkmark to it and hide this fund from displaying in searches. Now, only people who know the URL (or, address) to the fund page will be able to access it.

Step 3: Save Your Change

Click Save. The Successfully saved changes to the Fund message displays across the top of the page.

Step 4: Close the Update the Fund Page

Click Done. The Champion Center home page displays again.
