Understanding Open Authentication

Not having to remember a special Convio login may make it easier and more convenient for your constituents to use and interact with your site while reducing the number of abandoned interactions and duplicate accounts created by constituents who forget their Convio-specific login credentials.

The appropriate login information for each constituent is accessed and validated using application programming interfaces (APIs) created and maintained by the service connection company Gigya. You must create your own free Gigya account for your organization and accept their terms of service for this service.

In addition to the Gigya API and Secret keys associated with your Gigya account, there are API, secret, or consumer keys to connect to the social networking site. Gigya issues these keys as part of the Gigya configuration process, but you can record these keys on your Convio-powered site for safekeeping.
