Searching for Gifts with Donor, Participant, or Gift Information

From the Customer Service area, you can locate a gift to edit the amount, make it anonymous or change the name that displays with it on gift honor rolls, or set a batch code to remember when it was processed. You may also refund all or part of the gift as well as change the soft-credit if credit for the gift was mistakenly made to the wrong person, team, or event itself.

Note that you must have the appropriate permissions to perform these tasks.

You can search for a gift by the:

  • Name or email address of the donor who made the gift as well as the participant to whom it was made. Although you can search by entering only part of a name, you should enter as much as you know to narrow the search because the search results will contain only the first 100 gifts that match the criteria entered.
  • Confirmation code from the receipt of the transaction
  • Amount of the gift or the range in between which the gift amount would fall
  • Date on or around when the gift was made

To search for a gift:

  1. Click Customer Service from the top navigation bar. The Your Customer Service Area page displays.
  2. From the Related Actions area, click Search For Gifts. The search fields page displays.
  3. Enter as much information as you know in the appropriate fields and click Next. The Search Results page displays.
  4. From this list, click:
    • View/Edit to modify the gift information or edit the contact information of the donor. For details about the tasks you can perform, refer to Managing Participants.
    • Refund to issue a refund for all or part of the gift. For details about this task, refer to Refunding a Gift Payment
    • Change Soft Credit to change the name associated with this gift to another person, a team, or the even itself if it was mistakenly credited to the wrong person or team. For details about this task, refer to Changing the Soft Credit for a Gift.
