Purchasing Items Shipped to Others

If the multiple shipping feature is enabled on your site, you can split your purchase between multiple addresses and select each address for the items.

If the Gift Note feature is enabled, you can enter information to have a note sent with the gift.

Some products (such as a brick for a building or lunch for school kids) may be offered where you can designate the purchase on behalf of a friend or family member. You can notify the honoree by sending a paper card that the organization will mail via postal mail or an eCard that is sent to the email address you supply for the honoree. These products cause the Select Card Type page to display after you place them in the cart instead of leaving the product catalog pages visible, as explained in Step 2 below.

Step 1: Select Your Item and Add it to Your Shopping Cart

Enter the quantity of an item you want to purchase and click Add to Cart.

Notes:
(1)If the item has options that you must select (for example, color, size, and so on), click the Configure or Options button or link for the item and, from the Product Details page that displays, make the selections before clicking Add to Cart.
(2) To view details about an item, click the More information link.
 

Step 2: Select Card Type (if this page displays)

Note: If the Select Card Type page does not display, skip to the Step 3.

If the Select Card Type page displays:

  1. Click the appropriate type and click Continue.
  2. If:
    • Only one card displays, click Next. The card information page displays.
    • Or, more than one card displays, click a card and then click Next. The card information page displays.
  3. If the card selected is:
    • A Mailed Card:
      1. Enter the First Name and Last Name of the person on whose behalf this gift was purchased.
      2. In Street 1, enter the number and name of the street to which this card will be mailed (or, the PO Box).
      3. Optionally, in Street 2, enter the extra postal information as appropriate.
      4. In City, enter the name of the city that corresponds to the address information.
      5. Select the State or Province that corresponds to the address information.
      6. In ZIP/Postal Code, enter the appropriate information that corresponds to the address information.
      7. In To, enter the name of the person that should be printed on the card.
      8. In From, enter your name as it should be printed on the card.
      9. Click Continue. Your cart page displays again.

        Note: Your card will be mailed by the organization soon after your purchase is complete.
    • A Printable Card:
      1. Select an occasion from the first column and then the artwork from the second column.
      2. Click Next. Enter the appropriate information.
      3. Click Continue. Your cart page displays again.

        Note: The link for you to print out your card will display on your online receipt and in your purchase confirmation email you will receive after your purchase is complete.
    • An eCard:
      1. Enter the First Name and Last Name of the person on whose behalf this gift was purchased.
      2. In the Email field, enter the email address to which this card will be sent.
      3. In the eCard Subject field, change the subject as necessary.
      4. In the Personal Note field, add content to let the person know more about the item you purchased.
      5. Click Continue. Your cart page displays again.

        Note: Your eCard is emailed immediately after your purchase is complete.

You can return to the store or proceed to the checkout page from the cart.

Step 3: Continue Shopping

Continue shopping and adding purchases to your cart as necessary.

To view your purchases, click View Contents of Cart.

Step 4: Begin the Checkout Process

  1. When you are finished making purchases, click Proceed to checkout. Your cart is displayed.
  2. If the field for entering an additional donation displays, enter the monetary amount you would like to add as a gift to the organization directly and click Continue Checkout.

Step 5: Fill Out the Shipping Addresses

You can specify multiple addresses to ship other items directly to other people. You can also attach a gift note if that feature is available and displays on the checkout page.

  1. Click Ship to multiple addresses. The multiple address page displays.
  2. For each item:
    • If you have shipped to the address before, click it from the Select Address drop-down list.
    • Or, to enter another address:
      1. Click Enter a new address.
      2. Fill in the information.
      3. If the Gift Note feature is enabled on this site, enter your note text in the Gift Note field and enter the way you want your name to appear in the Signature field.
      4. Click Continue. The multiple shipping address page displays again.
  3. When you have finished, click Continue Checkout. The Billing Information page displays.

Step 3: Enter Your Billing Information

  1. Click into the First Name field and enter your first name.
  2. Click into the Last Name field and enter your last name.
  3. Click into the Email field and enter the email address at which you receive email.
    Notes:
    (1) To add Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, or Dr. before your first name, click the Title drop-down menu and click the appropriate option.
    (2) To add Sr, Jr, III, or IV behind your last name, click the Suffix drop-down menu and click the appropriate option.
  4. Click into the Email Address field and enter your email address.
  5. Click into the Address 1 field and enter the number and street name for your residence.
  6. Optionally, click into the Address 2 field and enter any other residence information (such as apartment or suite number).
  7. Click into the City field and enter the city in which your residential address is located.
  8. Click the State/Province drop-down menu and select the appropriate state or province that corresponds to your residential information.
  9. Click into the Zip/Postal Code field and enter the five or nine number code that that corresponds to your residential information.
  10. Optionally, click the Country drop-down menu and select the appropriate option.
  11. Click the appropriate Credit Card type radio button to indicate which credit card you will be using.
  12. Click into the Card Number field and enter your card number. You can include spaces or type the number without them.
  13. If the Verification Code field displays, click into it and enter the CVC number from your credit card. Note: The CVC code is intended to be used as verification that you have the card in-hand and is not kept or displayed on your receipt.
  14. Click the Expiration month drop-down menu and select the appropriate option.
  15. Click the Expiration year drop-down menu and select the appropriate option.
  16. Click Next Step. An initial confirmation page displays.

Step 4: Confirm Your Purchase

After carefully verifying all of the information, click Process. After a slight delay, the Confirmation and Thank You for Your Purchase page displays.

Step 5: Print the Confirmation Page

To keep a record of this transaction, click Print this page for your records and follow the standard procedures for printing from a Web page.
